Sr. Information Assurance Technologist/ISSO | Raytheon | Linthicum, MD
Job Description:
Serve as the Information Systems Security Manager/Officer (ISSM/ISSO)
reporting to the Site Security Manager. Provide day-to-day
computer/information systems (IS) security support, administration and
management for classified government contracts and programs. Be
responsible for the life cycle of an information system. Specific
responsibilities include:
- Generating and maintaining IS security plans (SSPs) and
maintaining compliance in accordance with NISPOM, DCID 6/3, emerging
ICD's and other government requirements documents
- Accurately and efficiently executing various diverse IS
Security Processes including account management, certification and
accreditation (C&A), hardware/software changes, firewall/controlled
interface rule changes, hardware sanitization, incident response,
software due diligence research, and audits
- Providing IS Security guidance and direction to program
personnel
- Developing, maintaining, and administering IS Security
briefings
- Directly interfacing with program management, program
personnel, computer services (IT) groups, systems security engineering,
customer security offices, and customer program management
- Assisting with Security inspections and audits; attending
program and staff meetings
- Ensuring existing and new systems are transitioned to
compliance with ICD 503 and corresponding implementation requirements
documents (e.g. NIST and CNSS documents)
- Interacting with internal/external customers (government
agencies) to obtain rulings and interpretations for compliance with
regulations
- Performing the duties of a COMSEC Custodian
- Providing support to other security disciplines as needed
Some travel may be required.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent professional experience in
lieu of a degree) and 4+ years of experience in Information Systems
Security, Information Assurance, IT, or Cyber Defense.
- Familiarity with DCID 6/3 and related Intelligence Community
IS Security requirements/procedures
- Experience in SSP (system security plan) development and C&A
documentation, processes and procedures
- Experience in COMSEC account maintenance
- Ability to travel when needed
- Briefing/presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, etc.)
- Self-starter - Proactive - Creative - Requiring minimal
supervision
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - Strong
interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills with
attention to detail
- Strong team player with strong multitasking abilities/skills
- Commitment to excellence, creating and delivering the highest
value to customers
Qualified applicants may be subject to a security investigation and must
meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information. U.S.
Citizenship and an active SSBI with CI polygraph required. Must be
willing and able to successfully complete a Full Scope polygraph.
Desired Skills:
- Current Full Scope polygraph preferred.
- Experience with various network security assessment tools,
(e.g., DISA Gold Disk, DISA SRR Scripts, WASSP, SECSCN, etc.)
- Familiarity with operating system configuration and hardening
guides, (e.g., DISA STIGs, NSA/CSS guides, etc.)
- Technical background - understanding of/experience with one or
more of the following:
- operating system security settings/features
- operating system file permissions
- operating system hardening/patching
- Firewalls (IP and port filtering)
- DoD 8570.1 compliant professional certification(s) helpful but
not necessarily required; may become a contract requirement in the
future.
- Familiarity with relevant NIST special publications and CNSS
policies and instructions (next generation C&A requirements)
